Law No. 4833-IX is now in force: what to know if you have a debt
On 23 October 2026, the main part of the changes introduced by Law No. 4833-IX entered into force. They concern the digitisation of enforcement proceedings. Here is a short, calm explanation of what this means for you.
What is changing
- More electronic data exchange. The Automated Enforcement Proceedings System works more closely with financial institutions and registers.
- Electronic money. The changes also cover electronic money and electronic wallets.
- Some procedures become automatic. In cases specified by law, the system is intended to support recording debt repayment, removal from the Unified Register of Debtors and lifting the seizure of funds.
What to do if you have an overdue debt
- Don’t put off the conversation. Contact us and we will calmly go through the possible ways to settle your debt.
- Pay only using verified payment details. If in doubt, check them with us.
